Hosted IP Telephony is HOT
Frost & Sullivan today said VoIP access and hosted IP telephony services currently are hot items
The research house Frost & Sullivan today said VoIP access and hosted IP telephony services currently are hot items as business enterprises look to reduce costs and improve productivity with an increased focus on realigning and updating their older communications infrastructures. The research house adds VoIP continues to penetrate the traditional PBX customer base, while IP Centrex and hosted IP PBX services are gaining traction among users who prefer to outsource their telephony capabilities.
During the next five to six years, the hosted IP-telephony market and the VoIP access-services market are expected to grow at about 80 percent in terms of access lines and revenues, according to the research company. While the installed base of VoIP access service lines will remain larger than that of fully hosted IP telephony solutions, Frost & Sullivan also maintains IP Centrex and hosted IP PBX services will grow more rapidly during the next five years.
